Who we are

KinRoad is a family readiness platform that helps individuals and families assess and improve their preparedness for the death or incapacitation of a primary adult. We are based in California. Our website is kinroad.app.

What information we collect

We collect only what is necessary to provide our service:

• Your name and email address - collected when you submit the gate form to receive your readiness report
• Your audit responses - the answers you provide to the 24-question assessment. These are processed in your browser and used only to generate your score and report. They are not stored on our servers.
• Payment information - if you purchase a paid plan, your payment is processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card details.
• Anonymous analytics - we use Plausible Analytics, a privacy-friendly analytics tool that does not use cookies and does not collect personal data. We see aggregate data only: page views, general location by country, and conversion events.

How we use your information

• To deliver your Family Readiness Report
• To send you a copy of your report by email if you request one
• To contact you about your purchase if you buy a paid plan
• To improve the product based on aggregate usage patterns

We do not use your information for advertising. We do not build profiles. We do not sell your data. Ever.

Who we share your information with

We share your data with as few third parties as possible:

• Netlify - our hosting provider, which receives form submissions
• Stripe - our payment processor, which handles all payment transactions
• Plausible Analytics - our analytics provider, which receives anonymous, cookie-free usage data

We do not share your name or email address with any other party unless required by law.

Data retention

We retain your name and email address for as long as you are a customer or have an active relationship with KinRoad. You can request deletion at any time by emailing hello@kinroad.app.

Your rights

If you are a California resident, you have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to request deletion, and the right to opt out of the sale of personal information (which we do not do).

Cookies

KinRoad does not use cookies. Plausible Analytics, our analytics provider, is cookieless by design.

Security

Our site is served over HTTPS. Payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe, which is PCI DSS Level 1 certified. Your audit responses are processed in your browser and are not transmitted to or stored on our servers.

Children

KinRoad is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the date at the top and notify active customers by email.
